The community centre is located in Prestwick in Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland.

The town of Prestwick is a costal resort and has been the destination for people with children looking for activities or just some social activity for many years. The community centre was originally built as a school for children in 1845, but in 1976 was changed to being a centre for activity groups in the Prestwick area.

All types of social and fitness groups and clubs are welcome, but especially children's groups who receive a 50% reduction on room hire in the centre. Adult groups are also catered for here. Many groups for retired people have activities in the centre such as Opportunities in Retirement. These groups are not only for social interraction, but some aim to help retired people maintain their flexibility and movement.

A group of volunteers make up the community centre committee who run the centre on a day to day basis. This is in partnership with South Ayrshire council who, in addition to other services, supply the caretakers for the centre. South Ayrshire Council have helped finance the community centre for many years. This is because the centre is a resource for the betterment of the community in Prestwick which falls under the South Ayrshire umbrella.

Fun activities, educational activities and relaxing activities can all be found at the community centre supplied by a variety of activity groups. It doesn't matter if it's sports, music, fitness, leasure, health or education for kids or adults, it can be found here at the centre.
